    Scopes looking for rifles

@ATILLA it would be good if you added the rifle serial and not only the scope serial.

German Captured 1886/M93 Lebel - Rastatt Rework

Very nice! I think they also captured that earlier French model (1866?), at least if I can remember correctly I have one of those too. Rarest DEUTSCHES REICH marked captured rifle that I can think of is btw a Ross Rifle M1905 that a friend of mine owns since decades. Never heard or seeen of...

    German 98k action cover

Are you sure this is Bakelite? It looks more stamped metal sheet to me, especially for being this thin I cannot imagine it being Bakelite. Can you ask your friend if this cover does not fall off the rifle if attached to bolt handle only? And would it work with turned down bolt handle, or with...

    Question on J.P. Sauer sniper?

I've seen both ce42 and ce43 with thick side walls, both undrilled. I'd appreciate pictures of what you were looking at, including not only ones of the receiver side wall, but also of the serials and receiver markings, to compare them to others known.

    Kahles H/4x60 on Sauer HT

Windage adjustment is done within the rear scope ring of the turret mount. The scope itself doesn‘t have windage adjustment.

WMO 1917 "N Block Sniper" Project

Sam, see this thread here for what I think the original bases were: https://www.k98kforum.com/threads/mauser-gew98-sniper-rifle-with-bases.53187/post-406271 Scroll down a bit, I have had another set of bases for those, and my bases came with Gerard B3x scope. Not saying this is the solution...

Sauer SSR prototype with offset feed ramp

Can't stop it ... Dave, check out the position of the screw holes on the base that you have posted pictures of. These are different from the one that Bruce has posted. Please try holding the base to a receiver. Would it sit in the same position as on rifle Bruce has posted?

    OGCA cyq today

Sorry for the OT .. saw today a "Styer" SSG69 on gunbroker, and it seems the KREIGhoff Lugers are something to never end. Fortunately that is not happening in here! The difference here is, Spreewerke would also be a German word, and it is very often also wrongly said "Spreewerke" even in...

    BCD 4 3 Hole 6362

Thank you for sharing the rifle with us. I hope that it will remain a three hole rifle and not will be completed to a LSR sniper rifle. The stock appears as if a straight cut under the lower barrel band [area] would be the best choice - then adding a front end. Would make it look like a duffle...

Sauer SSR prototype with offset feed ramp

Thanks for the additional pictures. When I made my reply the starting post only had the first image at all. With these new pictures I vote for original and experimental. Looks that we have a new variant that is longer than the SHORT side rail and shorter than the LONG side rail .. so lets call...

ERMA made MP43, MP44, StG44 barrels and letter block

There was just a giantific book series on Erma published last week, maybe that has the answer for you? https://www.amazon.com/ERMA-Erfurter-Maschinenfabrik-1924-2003-Submachine/dp/0764368559

    OGCA cyq today

A friend once teached me it is Spreewerk not Spreewerke, but I'm having the same disability as you to continue to speak in plural of them :D . Kind of a desease. Very nice! As ugly as one would expect a Spreewerk P.38 to be.

Sauer SSR prototype with offset feed ramp

Well. Given what they all experimented in regards to sniper rifles (and what period documents suggest), I wouldn't be surprised. And if there was someone willing to do this work, then it would be Sauer. Would want to see more details of the rifle first to give a better opinion. If SSR is not...

SS Double Claw Rifles and Objective Mount Rifles (Suhler Einhakmontage)

Well .. all SS DC sniper rifles are without runes. Because the front base is where otherwise the rune is located.

    Steyr Single Claw Rifles

That is a very nice original sniper rifle. The scope rings are reproductions. Does the locking cam of the rear base have a serial number on it?

SS Double Claw Rifles and Objective Mount Rifles (Suhler Einhakmontage)

According to period documents these rifles were converted to sniper rifles at Waffenwerke Brünn, and for final acceptance were to be sent to SS at Oranienburg. It is believed that they were "accepted" using the SSZZA2 stamp. Theoretically a rifle could not had been accepted due to something...

    Binoculars ID

Well. Both are crowns. But they clearly are not the same. Note the binoculars crown has a rounded bottom and a square thing on top whereas the Swedish one you have posted has a straight bottom crown and a thin cross on top. Denmark also has a king. Just to have it mentioned ;).
