The pitting on the barrel and condition isn't perfect, he may have found a better svmMB to put that stock on, but its all speculation until he explains himself.
 
So basically C1 bought the sportered svwMB, fixed it, and at some later date found a better set of hardware including the stock assembly.
He then posted the upgraded rifle. At some point afterward, put the rifle back in its original configuration albeit with small changes and then sold it.

The really problematic part is C1 posted the svwMB as part of his collection in the updated configuration.

I just have a problem with the whole sequence here. I hope I am not alone.
 
C1 should be notified and asked to comment. Everyone has mess with non matching guns, but matching guns in nice condition?!? Come on, that’s not right.

I figured the opposite, the "upgraded" (original) gun was posted first in Feb., then the sportered stock post came after in August.

Its possible the first post was the original rifle in the good stock, note the pitted front band matched the pitted barrel in condition. Entertaining this scenario, he found a better looking barreled action without pitting, pulled the ol switcheroo, then sold the dufflecut stock and inferior/mismatched components. Even if posted out of order there is zero mention of any restoration work from February which makes it all concerning. Caesar has been here longer than most of us so hopefully there's a good explanation.

It is a free country and people are free to do things with their stuff. However, humping and knowingly peddling humped stuff is not free. It has a price here at least and that’s getting bounced off this site.
 
I’m lost, is someone accusing me of doing something wrong? I wish I could recall the whole sequence of events but I usually post everything here. I would not sell something as real if it wasn’t. I have found sportered rifles and had luck getting better stocks for them.

I should hope not, your fine reputation on this forum speaks for itself and I appreciate my dealings with you. A lot can get lost in translation in writing and when selling an items and two or three degrees of separation.
 
I have no dog in this fight. However at the tail end of this and from PM’s with him, fellow forum member (Gman) ended up with the rifle in question and ended up getting really burned financially as he thought he was getting a Original all-matching example. The sequence of events here does matter because we are on a collector forum. As others have said, some explanation here would be nice. I guess the question I have is how was the rifle sold by Caesar1? The SVW trigger guard and floorplate on the gunbroker “svw stock repair” post and the “my collection” post are clearly not what the OP ended up getting which is a blued set and numbered floorplate…. Again I guess it comes down to how it sold from C1 to the next buyer and how it was advertised. The stock that ended up being repaired is what it came with from gunbroker, but the original TG/FP clearly being “scavenged” from its original barreled action and replaced with a close but deceptive (not too many buyers would know that “c block” TG/FP would be phosphate 100%) incorrect set is not so cool in my book. Just my opinion.
 
I can tell you one thing for sure, I didn’t sell this rifle to the current owner and have no idea how the seller advertised it.

You did sell it in the state it that is in as how that’s how I received it. You posted one photo as a matching example and the next in a sporterized condition

Fair enough, but did you replace the parts in question with other parts during the period of time this rifle was in your possession?
 
Not to jump in anyone’s business but I do have to say on Caeser’s behalf, I have purchased from him in the past and he was great to work with, honest, and it was delivered 100% as advertised..even better than pictures showed. I look forward to dealing with him in the future.

If you let a senior member get away with doing this to an original rifle it just goes to show that if your a significant member of a forum you can get away with murder.
