Update on FG42 from SMG Guns

I got the email for payment yesterday. I ordered April of 2022. According to the email it will still be 6-8 weeks

HMMM, is your rifle in 8mm or .308? I wonder if that's the difference. Maybe .308 takes longer? I ordered my TYPE 1 in May 2021 in .308. Not cerakote.

He said that the cerakote and lacquer rifles have to be finished first. So your rifle is probably taking longer since you wanted it blued. I order mine January 2022 and got the same email for final payment.

Yea for sure, cause I ordered almost a year earlier and haven't got anything yet, but mine is to be blued only.

Well, today is TWENTY WEEKS since we got the e-mail saying 8-12 weeks. Why string us along like that?

Nah, I guess that I am just mad at myself for getting my hopes up AGAIN. I should know better by now

I know it’s tough to wait. I’ve been waiting to 2 1/2 years. But I look at it like this, Rick wants to finish and sell rifles. Not like he’s lazy or dishonest. Everything just takes longer these days and nothing is ever easy.

And consider this, these rifles will always be worth more than we paid. They are not mass produced and he won’t make them for ever.

I had to turn down my turn 2 years ago. After all the waiting, mine was ready the week I was walking out the door following putting my house up for sale. I wouldn’t have been there when it arrived and it took another 3 months to find the property we wanted as we stayed with family. It took a while to get a drivers license in the new state and locate a good FFL. It was just too complicated. I had the type 2 also. Beautiful weapons.

I am posting this picture so those of you who not only have a rifle on order but paid for it a couple of months ago can see something. This is, at this stage of things a large group as I am the only one fitting/putting them together so being that I am both old and slow...... Well you get the idea. Anyway, they are a mixture of 8mm and .308 in all types/combos of finish.
The only snafu along the way is we are having to send the scope rings that hold the body of the scope to the mount back to the processor because the black job done on the brass was not so good on a number of them. As always I will hope the rifles please when received. Haven't posted in a long time because since the chinese virus there are only 3 of us here and we are still trying to do 6 peoples work but it just hasn't worked so far. Seems no one wants to work and as I get older I understand it better. lol
I would love to stay and shoot the chit but I better get back to this. Thanks again for being so patient and trusting!

Thanks for the update! Hope my rifle might be in that batch! 😃

Have the delays because of cerakoting all been overcome?

Any progress is great news and hope to receive the much anticipated 'email' soon.......LOL!

Hang in there, Rick........Old age gets us all!

Well… hate to be the first to complain but I’m not pleased. After a 3 1/2 year wait I now immediately have to send my gun back because one bipod leg is so loose it barely even stays up. Right out of the box. On top of that I’ve been told it would be at least 3-4 weeks until it’s returned.

I also have very low confidence that the paint has any kind of durability. I know originals chipped, but not after gently being set down on a wood work bench. Guess we will see.

I recently sent my type 2 back to Rick for work. . The gun jammed on the second round. He found one mag was not feeding right. He replaced the bent return spring and a few other things. He didn't charge me a thing to get the gun up and running again.
I did use the proper 8mm ammo when I had the issue.
Rick does stand behind his guns. Thanks Rick.
