Legendary Turd

Looks like floorplate, front band and bolt body have all got the treatment at minimum. Swear I've seen this one before.

This is a nice German WW2 K98 manufactured by Mauser werke in 1944. The rifle exhibits late war features and matching visible numbers throughout. The late war rifles are of particular interest as features were rapidly changing month to month. Please ask any questions before bidding!

hmmm,
must be magic, shot enough to set back the recoil lug & crack the wrist behind the tang, but note the unblemished finish on the extractor & lack of wear marks on the bolt body………

That bnz sold for $1125, but I didn't recognize the low feedback winners handle. Wonder if we'll see more of it?
It had several low feedback or NR bidders, which doesn't surprise me because people with experience collecting or researching milsurp probably wouldn't pay 1k for this. For like 700-850 it would be a nice shooter though tbh, regardless of it being humped up.

Maybe not a turd after all… im on the fence still but Turbo Archie has a very compelling case.
