WWI Sniper scope? Or sporter?

Have this scope offered to me locally, there is what appears to be an identical model in different mounts in Spielauer's WWI optics book page 66. What do I have here, a known sniper scope in correct mounts or a sporter?

Do the rings fit on a Mod.98 receiver?
No! => sporter
Don't spend any real money for it.

The rings look kinda close together to bridge a k98 receiver...but as I have no reference point it could be an optical illusion...and totally wrong.

Hello,

rings to close not correct, serial is out of range for WWI, no gew 98 serial present, serial to early for Reichswehr sniper, biggest it has the focus ring, 100% commercial. with all that said WWI optics are not my strong suite.

Thanks guys, Im going to pass on the deal, even if it were a WWI scope the mounts are wrong so just another project I dont need.
