Marked "cwt" and dated 1942, in near mint condition, all fabric is intact with no frays or tears, all buttons and drawstring present, all hardware retains all paint and appears fresh from factory the day it was made, only flaws are the beginnings of drying leather/red rot on one side of the rucksack, an extremely rare rucksack date and maker, the only one I have ever seen dated 1942, these packs are seen exclusively very late in the war with a very small amount being dated 1943, with the rest all having RBNr's. My only explanation is this may be some sort of reused stamp die for the year and was produced in 1943, or it was produced earlier and used for troop trials. Construction materials lean towards an earlier production.
