I'm feeling this too. IF this 'winner' is even real. I also looked at his track record and as Ryan pointed out above, he's new (March 2021), only bids/buys from well known mongers AND seems to ridiculously overpay for questionable items. And I mean RIDICULOUSLY overpay. Hey he might be real but I"m not buying it. I'm much more likely to believe this is an orchestrated attempt to pump artifical prices/interest into their wares. Not my money but I don't believe any of this is really happening.
 
Its over 10k now. I all so think this is orchestrated. If not someone is a real dumb a$$ with too much money.
 
I wouldn't trust this seller. Some time ago I enquired about one of his P38s. Blueing seemed refinished on pictures so I asked him about it. His reply was that I should use my own judgement and decide on my own. No answer either way and of course that was a no return listing. I also checked few of his auctions and noticed bids from same 3 low feedback bidders and most feedbacks they had were from this very seller.
Now he is probably creating sensation with 10k P38 to draw attention to his other listing which are cheaper.
 
As i mentioned "overthere" the high bidder is real and just bought a common so/so byf43 rig from the same seller for a mere 3600.00 LOL

Just think about that madness for a moment.... It's crazy thinking the 'restocking fee' on some of their 'sales' is equal to or greater than the actual retail value of that item.
 
I was talking to a good friend of mine about this pistol last night for one he does not like the finish on this pistol. He sold another one like this for like $6600 and he says the finish color on that one compared to this one is almost identical and the way the numbers are stamp. He's been dealing with P38 pistols for a long time and this one is setting off all kinds of alarm bells to him.
 
I guess if he’s able to get that kind of money…..more power to him. Provided the pieces are totally legit. Sounds like there’s concern? Photos look pretty darn good. I’m just gonna say, that is an insane and non-comprehendible amount for that pistol.
