That seems to be the most likely explanation. I'll continue to research, but haven't heard anything about renumbered receivers being used. Only thing I've seen is possibly some Chinese rifles being built on Vz24 receivers along with the Turk rifles, and those were without prefixes I believe
 
That serial is not period!, You should dissasembly the rifle, look at barell marking, present here pictures from sights and barell, then we could say more, the buttstock should be serialed too, but from dissasembly disc this could be turkish Vz98/22 buttstock, but wout proofs impossible say more.
 
On a different note, these are great shooters with 150 grain ammunition. They readily digest varying qualities of 7.92x57 with ease.

I will when I get a chance and share photos here if I find any markings on the barrel
