Vetting of a 1940 G33/40

I am wanting some some additional opinions on this G33/40 I purchased a few months back off the forum.

Can provide more photos if needed, but I think this covers most of the basics.

It is missing the front sight hood, cleaning rod, and is missing the rear discs. This is how I got it, and how the prior owner got it.

The rifle is all matching based on the serials.

Questions;

How do the eagles look?
Overall finish?
Has it been 'messed' with?

Thanks in advance!!

Complete correct rifle. It has poor stoorage issues and someone cleaned it aggressively on the stock. Fine rifle if you're simply looking for an example. I personally wouldn't buy this as a collectable; only because very good examples can be found. My .02. I'm jaded as I know very nice examples of most anything can be found...but you have to lead with the wallet. It's the difference between all correct old brown guns and all correct old guns in good condition. If you want an original 33/40, you're good to go

The rifle has some nice pluses.
All matching, while G33/40s are not hard to find (relatively speaking) finding them with matching bolts can be challenging.
It has the early 945 code, significantly less common than the dot code.

The downside is it appears the wood was sanded from the looks of the stock markings, but the markings are still there.
If it were mine I would replace the missing takedown washers with originals, and be happy with it until you decide if/when you want to spend the $$$s required for a better example.
