Very Rare Commercial Walther P38!!!

Please no links to live auctions, as stated in the forum rules, unless you want to point out a turd.

Desperate seller shilling. His ad on GB is ridiculous hyperbole.

Uuhhhh, I know it’s Monday morning, but is that the same auction? first one had 150+ pix, this one only has 72…….different seller name & location.
Either way, Farb’s observation of a shill-bid auction seems pretty likely.
probably not a real sale, note the sn, then watch for it to be relisted in a few days. the more pix & absurd claims about the item, the more likely that the auction is ‘fake’. Item is real, but not as claimed, seller is a shark fisherman chumming the waters with bait, but in these cases, the “sharks” are really sheep being led to defrauding.

If you are really in the market for a nice P.38, post a wtb here in the Trader

ps: were both those links even the same pistol? photo count & city were different, 1st one had marks like scratches on the ‘eagle n’ on the right front of the slide, 2nd one doesn’t.

There 2 different auctions for 2 different pistols have different serial numbers etc……. The 2nd one recently sold the 1st one is active. Not the same P38 so there is nothing fake about it

OK then, perhaps I should ask, ‘what’s your point’ in posting the 1st auction?

No one here said the items for sale weren’t real, but “fake auctions” (those with one or more shill bidders driving up the price) are fairly common on gunbonker. It’s sad for the collecting hobby, the site owners only care about their revenue. Makes the site less useful for collectors, more useful for grifters & thieves.

There are of course, real auctions there by honest ordinary people & companies, but a lot of ‘hustle’ auctions, carnival barking items to the unwary, to fleece them of their money. There’s a difference between a capitalist & a con man.

It’s clearly the same fellow pumping his auction trying to get the same money. He’s dropped turds all over the internet. People hate auction shills, they are not usually this obvious.
