Turd Alert , Fake High Turret

You should grab some screen shots of it for posterity Dave, serial numbers etc. It is tastefully executed, too bad it’s misrepresented.

Rick , I thought about that but really no need were it is not an original , way to many Fake Sniper rifles out there to try to keep track of . The sad part about this build and Mr.farb pointed this out , a all matching DOT 44 was destroyed in this build . IMHO if You want a matching repro sniper rifle per say find a all matching rifle with sporterized stock , don't ruin a all matching rifle

This one also appears highly questionable to me, would appreciate other opinions.
I emailed the guy asking for additional pictures after it was posted with no response. The questionable #s, cold blue on barrel shank, and bad DH on wrist is keeping me from bidding unless we get more photos (without the wax pencil) of the B/A #s & DH, base, and mount. I’d like a better photo of the engraving on the scope as well.

If I am recalling correctly this SS SSR in question was sold in a Auction that took place about 1 1/2 to 2 yrs ago , can not recall which specific Auction House it was , but I had won an SS SSR Scope & Mount from this same Auction and I am sure most will recall the Auction which had Several VZ24 Sniper Rifles this SS SSR came out of this same Auction .

Now I remember the rifle. Here it is, it was a Centurion sale.

No stock relief cut for the bolt handle. Pictures are not very good. Screws holding base to receiver are reproductions. Certainly they would have updated the stock with a takedown disc when making it a sniper? Restored with postwar stock? Was this in a book? Scope numbers seem very familiar.

Not a SS SSR I would spend any coin on . A bunch of issues were to start , all I will say is someones going to get burnt

What about the death head on the barrel and especially the one on the stock?

Barreled receiver is real, stock fake
Maybe you should be more specific - the barreled receiver as Gew98 to K98k conversion done by the SS might be original (though I'd want to see the barrel shank bottom markings with the commercial proof to know for sure) - this however would NOT mean the SSR sniper conversion would also be real. I personally would doubt this.

The barrel shank markings are shown on the auction pictures #32,33.
The two types of DH skulls are the same as on mine. We have never seen if the base is numbered . B/R might be good.

I originally had been looking at it when these were not included - thanks for pointing them out to me.

Notice how most of the fake snipers descriptions are
"I believe
"Could be"
"I'm unsure"

All so you're screwed if you try to return it because it's not legit. "Well I never said it was for sure real!"

.. because it fits:
A fact is information minus emotion. An opinion is information plus experience. Ignorance is an opinion lacking information. And, stupidity is an opinion that ignores a fact.

I meant what I said in my post
