Third Party Press

That thread about the well known....

Why on earth does any forum lock any thread? What is the rationale/excuse (other than censorship/burying the issue/cya, etc.)?

Exactly. IMO the thread was locked at USMF and posts deleted to protect dealers who were also in on the scam. Just as it was about to be exposed posts missing and thread locked. IIRC one dealer was in Maryland and the other Gettysburg.

If the thread is a "sticky" then locking it is not bad. At a certain point it becomes epic repetitive like our XRF /CRSS thread. If the main info is there to warn that's good. If they will reopen the thread for new info that is good. They have done that.

If they reopened that would be good. They have not. Deleting posts is never good. As for stickies when using Tapatalk they are skipped over. I didn't see the story about the M1917 sticky on calguns for almost 2 years til there was new posts.

That was user JKash on USMF. He had a website with 30 unit marked field camo'd M2 helmets at any given time. It was f'n ridiculous and I couldn't believe anyone fell for that to begin with. A dealer has the direct line on the rarest of the the rare vet bringback paratrooper helmets? Interesting. You can search JKash on USMF and it brings up multiple old posts

Someone made a post about it on Facebook and it was magically restored.

I'm glad some of those guys got their money back. What a gross mess of wallet bigger than brain when trusting 'respected' expert who has been in the 'field' for six years. Circular reasoning why a nobody all of a sudden has the rarest WW2 helmets. I've got a great story about an 'original' in-country worn 29th helmet. It's out there and the new owner thinks it's original to the guy who wore it from June 6th through the end of the war
