Hello,

I am not sure that this is exactly the correct forum, but I think it is. Essentially, so far as I have seen there is very little online information regarding these 'Wehrmanngewehr', and the few sources I did find almost all contradict each other. I know a little bit about the interwar culture of these shooting organizations, but was wondering if anyone on this forum knew more. I've gotten interested in them because they have possibly the most esoteric/peculiar crest of the rifles I have seen, only matching up to the 'tgf-1950' Czech mausers.

Tiroler StandSchuetzen Verband should be this probably, eagle is typical for Tirol anyway the swastika was added post 1938. question remains how its linked with tgf 1950 as this is CS postwar production in ZB?.

If you do a search for Standschutzen, you will find numerous threads on this forum discussing this contract of target rifles procurred from the Mauser factory by the Standschutzen Verband Tirol-Vorarlberg. I contributed to many of then when I owned one, The information is quite definite. The crest will also be found on some examples of the Walther PP procured by the shooting club. Here are some images of a shooting card and a period new article about the contests and medals.

Hello dder11

There is a featured article in Rifleman mag. October 2007 about inter war Mauser target rifles by Ludwig Olson & Fred Reigle,
also in the book " the mauser archive" by john speed has a chapter inter war military target rifles. both are good.

Thanks guy, I'll look at the provided info. Sorry if I missed obvious sources, I am a bit of a spastic when it comes to finding specific stuff outside a basic google search followed by the most shallow of digging.

Once again, thank you
