Overpaid for what was supposed to be a WWII bring back - all matching Oberndorf rifle on Gunbroker. Seller did not mention that the stock separated and was repaired with dowel reinforcements at some point. Is this a period appropriate repair or was it done more recently post war? Why would anyone paint the stock brown? Finally, should I keep or sell this particular example if my overall intention was to get a respectable rifle that will increase in value with time (everything else metal seems to check out except for the stock.
