I'm looking for any information about this sort of scope. I have purchased one from Germansniper1 on Ebay for use in a reproduction sniper rifle. I know it's not WW2 era, but the rifle it is being mounted to was a sporterized BYF44 that I have attempted to rescue, so I'm not going for 100% authenticity. Regarding the rifle, unfortunately the barrel was shot out causing it to key-hole at 50 yards. I have had a gunsmith (Charlie Romero in Vermont) rebarrel it with a new-old-stock Isreali .308 win barrel and had the entire action re-phosphated. He is currently repairing a few spot and re-finishing the entire stock before fitting it to the action. Next he will be setting up the LSR mount with the scope I mentioned in the subject.
I know next to nothing about the Sornet Wetzlar scope and would like to know anything I can about it. Where and when it may have been made, by whom, and if they are well regarded? Is there anyone in the US I can send the scope to have it refinished or would that be a waste of money?
Thanks very much for your help!
