Some items from a SA friend's Schutztruppen collection

Organizing files of photos this afternoon I found these of 98 carbines and some bayonets from a South African friend's collection. These have a history with German South West Africa . The muzzle cover was in the folder with the other photos but I am not sure it is his.

Very nice. He and I have emailed each other from time to time. Mostly sharing information about Schutztruppe, Kar.98 and other stuff.

Beautiful rifles. And those slings! I'm assuming they are period. They are virtually never seen.
