So I got a call from the gun store…

Local gunshop has been helping me sell some K98ks as I have to downsize to fit the collection into my new smaller gun room. They call me Tuesday and…we know you like mausers, some guy dropped off a box of stuff to sell and we think it has a German scope in it, you want to come see it?

Turns out to be this. I am no expert, but I was able to get some guidance from a certain forum administrator. I asked the price and was told no price yet, the guy is bringing in the rifle it goes with on Thursday, drop by then..

Turns out this was the rifle, a decent ar 41, but not a ZF41 rifle. I have not disassembled yet, but it appears to be a bolt only mismatch with original sling. It has definitively been apart before, the lower band is upside down, the sling inside out, and the band spring is reversed. I have told myself no more K98ks, only Standard Modells or Polish mausers, but this one fell in my lap and is better condition than my existing ar 41. So I made an offer on the rifle and scope as a package which they accepted.

The bottom of the stock has both a C and a P stamp in addition to the serial number. The stock doesn’t appear to be sanded, but the stock acceptance marks are pretty light, so it may have been at some time in its past.

nice stuff... odd he had a zf41 but the rifle isnt a zf41 ?? The zf41 is a late type un-numbered.. The ar41 is nice.. I guess your adding not getting rid now.

Probably not a keeper for you but, Im sure someone here would love to own it for a starter rifle..

Not adding, just a momentary relapse . I wasn’t looking for one, it kind of came to me. I did appreciate the shop owner contacting me, and the price was very fair.

is the 153301 on the scope a scope serial number?
