Simson w 625 b s/n 140553

There is a Simson W625B recorded with serial number 150325. Keep in mind that these were made up until existing parts were exhausted, even after the C model was introduced. The numbering fell into the existing line of production at Simson/BSW/Gustloff.

thank you very much Steve

If you look closely, the front sight of the early models have two guides to put the muzzle cover. For the last Simson models, do not have those guides, and muzzle cover is different, as in the BSW models.
Therefore, ask above, if someone knew one Simson W 625 B with the highest that the numbering 140,553. I firmly believe that is one of the last Simson, before switching to BSW.

By the time your w625b was produced it was using the DSM34 type front site. Not the Simson longer ramp type site. So a dsm34 type cover will fit.
As you can see in your adds you posted the DSM34 is listed and all the accessories are listed below. Sling, muzzlecover, carrying bag, ect. All could be bought separately.

I have owned many blank covers. I have seen JGA and BSW marked covers on other rifles other than DSM34's. But, I was just trying to state that the hinged cover was mausers design patterned of the K98k cover.

Attaching pictures?

This is my first attempt to post pictures on this forum so I don't what to expect.

When I compare photos it looks like mine is different. It is stamped BSW-SUHL on the left side of the receiver.

Great photos, and thanks for posting them! This rifle is very significant because it is another example of the factory using parts on hand which had been made previously to assemble arms upon receipt of orders/sales. The Simson-marked receiver with a BSW address line on the left indicates the changes going on at the factory during this time. W625Bs had been rolling out with BSW on the receiver crest for some time before this one was assembled and numbered for proofing. That makes it all the more rare and precious. Thanks for sharing this!

Also, it is important to note that the W625B was introduced VERY SHORTLY before the DSM contract was signed between Mauser and Simson/BSW in early March 1934 (the contract even shows evidence of the name change being underway at the time). VERY FEW W625As were made before the design was changed to the Bs. Minor modifications can be seen occurring on this series all the way through the Cs to make these more closely resemble the K98k (which is why the DSM won out over the Simson design for selection by the SA, to begin with). No surprise the B models would reflect the front sight (and thus the front sight cover) of the Mauser design.
As a side note, I've been digging through DEPATIS.net trying to find who gets the credit for that muzzle cover. There are plenty of various patents for them, but I am yet to find the patent for this particular design. Working on it.

Two more photos

Hello B-3-6, Could you send a detailed picture of trigger cover?
Thank you.

Attached is the only one I have. It will be the weekend before I can take some more. I also included a photo of the only marking I see on the exterior of the stock. I'm guessing it's a "S" or maybe a "5".

I'll try again

OK, I think I got it right this time.

Thank you.

Thank you all for the compliments.

haiha, the workmanship on these rifles is very nice. Your tiger striped stock is amazing.

Always love the tiger stripping in the stock. Haida I was wondering, is the stacking Rod in your rifle blued or in the white?

Apologies KKW22cal not understand the term "stacking Rod ", could you describe where in the rifle is?.
I have some drawback with the language, you have patience, sorry.
B-3-6 note the difference in colors? In the oldest, the color is red / brown, and yours is blued.

No problem. The stacking Rod is a long screw that is ment to resemble the cleaning rod. It is located at the front of the rifle under the barrel.
