Found this while visiting a friend back in December. Great example of a Samsonwerk S14. The acceptance is fairly unique, looks like a crown over N to me, I can’t say I’ve observed this particular stamp anywhere else. From what I’ve seen this is the most common maker but this one is in excellent condition. This was my first foray into ersatz models, hopefully I can add some other makers.

Nice S14, Cyrus. The acceptance on the spine and side of the pommel is a crowned A. Samsonwerk S14 are observed with crown A or G; most are A. Some examples are also marked with the same A on top of the pommel as well as the face of the scabbard's frog hanging hook. The small stamping to the reverse ricasso is thought too be for an individual workman and is unique to Samsonwerk pieces. Coincidentally, a stylized A on your example. Workmen stamps of E, I, Q, V, and others have been observed as well.

Yes Slash is probably correct, the pommel proof is not extra visible, and the left side is more deeply stamped as the right, so it could be letter A instead of L. Much better visible on spine of blade.

Thanks, Lance! Great information, i will start paying more attention to the reverse ricassos of these when i see them.
