S/237 1937. Local Find: 1 of 2, can only pick one....

Guys, this will be part 1 of 2. It isn't often that I find things worth sharing in local shows and shops, but this takes the cake. Goal is to walk out of the store with one of two.

S/237, 1937. All metal aside from the cleaning rod and the band spring matches.

The handguard internal serial matches, and the stock does externally. Took the bolt down, all good there. I did not take the whole rifle all the way apart. Weird thing on the stock is external numbered but no Heer acceptance? Depot replaced as the butt plate and bayonet lug would suggest? I forgot to grab a photo of the butt plate, but the serial is struck clean through and renumbered much like the pictured lug. I believe the butt plate was WaA 1. Stock doesn't look cleaned or sanded but the bolt cut out sure looks worn, I always lean towards a sharp cutout or I start thinking someone took steel wool or something to it... Thoughts overall?

To me, all the serials look good to go and I know it's a rare code. $3,000 out the door.

I would say definitely Depot stock, no depot marks on it? Distinctly different fonts of course on the "3"'s, "c" marked stock...cool gun, but I don't know $3k seems kind of steep for what it is...

I looked in the wrist and don’t think I saw anything
