The National Infantry Museum at Fort Benning, GA has two ZF41 scopes in search of a rifle. Quite the contrary position to the folks on this board.

Force Matched bcd4 LSR

I noticed a bcd4 with serial number 84983 listed as “All original ....all matched including stock and scope” for $14.5K. I also realized the serial number was the same number Stevlas58 posted in this thread seeking a matching mount. The pictures on the seller’s website struck me as a humped turd with an original mount. I asked the seller for better pictures of the rifle and scope mount. The seller, Gerald Florey of Acmeimportsintl.com, sent me some additional pictures. It was apparent even in the poor quality pictures that the serial number on the rifle had been altered.

Florey became suspicious of me seeking better pictures and now says the rifle is no longer for sale. You can view the advertisement for this rifle as item #156 here: https://acmeimportsintl.com/page-2-2.html.

I did consult with some respected forum members and they recommended to just post the LSR with pictures.

Mauser 98k 9956 SSR

Would you be able to tell more on the rifle, like the receiver code? I'm asking since no Mauser (42, byf, etc.) coded original SSR sniper rifles are known. It would make a difference if yours is a J. P. Sauer & Sohn ("ce") coded rifle. Thanks!

Thanks. This appears to be a SS SSR sniper rifle. They were Gew98 converted to K98k rifles by the SS. Yours maybe features some Kar98b or G98M parts. The scope mount you are after most possibly originally had an Ajack SS Dienstglas on it, but could very well also be a Dialytan from the SS contract or even a Köhler scope. I‘ll add it to the list. If you find time, please do a picture Set of your rifle and post it in an own Thread in here. I‘m sure others will appreciate it as much as I do.
