Reproduction ZF41 Scope and mount ?s

New member here, I am thinking about purchasing a reproduction ZF41 scope and mount to add to my "barn rescue" post-war K98k that I was given 15 years ago and have been slowly restoring off and on over the years. I know it isn't technically correct for the gun but I just want to add something give my aging eyes a bit of boost at the range.

Can anybody share their experiences with the quality of the reproductions currently on the market? Are they all coming out of the same place in China? It appears Numrich no longer sells them, but they are available from Accumounts and Waffenmeisters. I didn't turn up much in a search. I'm mostly concerned about the scope holding up during actual use.

Hello! I’m new here as well, but I do have a good amount of experience with Accumount products. I’ve been running their PEM scope set up on my mosin for the last couple years and it is absolutely incredible. The scope is extremely high quality and holds zero well. It also has impeccable tracking and glass quality. They are far from cheap Chinese junk, and, if I’m not mistaken, they’re made in Michigan.

I’ve been contemplating picking up a ZF-41 from Accumounts for my Mauser as well. Im excited to see what others have to say about them.

Hello, the zf41 copies are not of very good quality as regards the precision of the machining. I have no experience of use, but I have experience of observing parts to have dismantled a few.for example: the objective turns in its objective holder to allow the adjustment of the telescope.on the original zf41, this machining is perfect; the pieces turn one inside the other without play. For the zf41 copies, the lens rotates in its lens holder with a little to a lot of play depending on the telescope. the result is that if the objective moves because of this play during the shooting, the telescope will be out of order. another example, the adjustment wheel is held by a ring which is screwed into the tube of the bezel. on the original zf41, the screws go into the tube.On the copy zf41, these screws are screwed in force on the tube but do not go into it because there are no holes.thus, if you force, this ring can slide backwards even if the screws are tightened. This is my opinion.

This is disappointing to hear. My only real interest in the ZF41 is relative ease of install (since my rifle is already missing the sight ramp and spring), I was willing to put up with low power and difficulty zeroing if it was, in fact, a decent usable scope.

Given what the reproduction ZF41 kits cost, I might as well as spend a little more money, buy a Meopta ZF4 and a swept back mount and fit my rifle with that.

Hello, given the price of zf41 reproductions, I think you will be better off buying an original zf41. choose there with a clearly visible crosshair and you won't be bothered no machining quality problem on an original scope.
