"Repro" sniper rifle builders?

Hello,
I am somewhat new to the forum. Is there anyone in the US that builds K98 sniper rifles with original optics and repro mounts to make a historically accurate shooter? What is a decent price for one? I understand there are lots of variables involved.

There are gunsmiths that will build one but you will have to source the rifle, mounts and optics and send it to them.

You can do the math youself:

Rifle: $1000 for a decent shooter
Mounts: $200
Scope: $270 for a repro, $300+ for vintage scope
Work: $300+ depending on what mount and what else needs to be done

So you could get a clone for under $2000. You have a few mount options, turret or claw, or side rail, same on scopes.

There are smiths on this forum that have a very good rep for building these.
 
If you check the auctions the repro snipers do come up for sale.
It might be better to buy one of those rather than ruin a good k98.
