Rem Rand 1911a1 correct?

Here is another 1911a1,was wondering if the parts look correct for year of production.I bought this at a gunshow many years ago for 450.00 before they got sky high.The mags are marked 2 on toe with the R and one the L and correct from the great info I got on the other rigs mags.The keeper on the end of the slide is thicker than the norm.The holster is 42 and other pouches are too.What year was this rem rand produced?

Nice type III Remington Rand. Clawson's original list put it as a late 1944 but I suspect it is an early 45. The RR shipping and production records have been lost to time. Contract mags, with no C- whatever on the bottom of the base are probably OK, like S, R, L with a DuLite blue finish. An HS DuLite blue barrel is correct and your small ring keyes grips are also correct. Loss of finish in the serial number and ordnance stamp is apparent and correct for original finish pistol. The P on the slide and frame were struck with the same stamp and should match each other but it can be hard to determine since the angle of the stamp varied. If obviously different, or the slide is from a different era, that is a different way to spot a mismatch.

Looks like another winner. Any holster pre-dating the build of the pistol is OK, even a 1917 for example. They used what they had and many nice WW1 era holsters and belts were in inventory and were widely used. Brown leather is a must.

Thanks Mike!The P proofs look like the same size and font on all parts so look correct .I bought this in 1990,450.00 then is like 1000.00 now in terms of what it can buy.At least this pistol kept up with inflation of the dollar!What would be a good value today for insurance purposes?

Atom I'm starting too think you have a hell of a pistol collection! Another nice 1911.

Value for these at most shows I'm seeing them priced between $1500-$1900. More depending on the seller.

That is a good range and maybe make it $2k for insurance purposes to be on the safe side.

Thanks guys!Warrior,these are the only 2 ww2 45s I have.Would love to find a nice Ithaca and US&S at a resonable price. And of course Singer but highly doubt that will ever happen,think they only made about 500 of those!
