Hello everyone,I have an intrest in dug ups and over the years have collected and dug up allsorts of militaria from helmets and buttons right upto big stuff like flak gun barrels.Thought I'd post the best bits here as and when I bring it out of the shed so first up is this smashed helmet from fallingbostel in Germany.

I find the battlefield relics both fascinating and frightening. Looking forwards to seeing what else you post!
I feel the same way UVF, I was quite fortunate that the fellows I spent time digging with and traded with were responsible and respectful when human remains were found they were always reported to the authorities.Some diggers dont do what they should.I'll post some stuff up this weekend.

Thanks for sharing. Some interesting items you have. Does it appear the MG42 was halved by battle damage? Perhaps a large caliber round strike? That autocannon must have been a fearsome ground attack weapon. Makes our Ma Deuce look like a toy.
Cheers heavy mech, I really can't tell how the 42 was wrecked.It's really bent out of shape and the edges are ragged and sharp in places. If it was cut then the guy must have been blind drunk but if it was blown up then it was a hell of an explosion!I wish I could display those flak barrels somehow.I'll post more stuff up this weekend.
