Recent Portuguese 937A

I am posting photos of a 937A that I recently purchased from the Mosin Crate. It was a dealer's choice. It is definitely better than I thought it was going to be. The 937A rifles in the US were frequently plagued with rust problems. I have not had the opportunity to take this one apart but I see no signs of it having a rust problem. Interestingly, it seems to be wearing an armourer spare butt plate. I did not find any sign of this butt plate having the usual Portuguese cross on it that I would have expected. The bore is shiny and new looking. Needless to say, I am very happy with it.

They were a couple dollars less than $1,500 each delivered. I bought two. My other one is similar. If I get some more free time during daylight hours I will post photos of the second one also. Compared to what else is out there at that amount these are awesome.

Anyone have any updated info on of the M937A’s that were Atlantic were selling will come back in stock? That was a great price for a complete kit. The ones on Centerfire appear to be in a worse condition and don’t come with the ammo.

Here's a recent M937A from Atlantic. It is not quite as nice as my Mosin Crate rifles but was a similar price and came with a box of ammo and an original Portuguese bayonet.

Nice. Did you take it to the range? Does it shoot well?

It looks like it will shoot well. I have limited options when it comes to range time. I work way too much and have 4 kids. When I do go, it is dad-daughter time and that means .22 LR, .223, and 9 mm handguns. I will have to work my way up to real calibers with them. I really only have one daughter who is likely to make it to a real centerfire rifle caliber.
