Many years ago I found this rear sight base zf 41, I was told it came from a 98 k demolished ,the asking price of 50 € made me think it was a replica, but I wanted to make an RC k98 zf 41 to shoot at the range so everything ok, I've never done this change and doubt on 'any originality has stayed with me, can you please help me to identify the base if the original and make me understand which particular one can identify an' legit
Best regards

Hello,

I say fake. from what I have poured over many pics the cut out that makes the <------------ is way to thin and is how I have identified repro's for years but I am not the expert on ZF41 items. it is also missing the final proof but the late ones were not marked so thats no a 100% comment fake/real factor.

might be an idea to help identify the various reproductions if an expert in zf41, possibly capable of working with CAD ,realize a mechanical drawing of real quotes rear sight base, the Germans have always been very precise machining, and I think many collectors appreciate.

The soluction of the problem with this kind of bases is not in the quotes : normally this kind of replica mount is precisely machined . To understand if you have an original or a fake you have instead to watch to the machining , making a close comparison with an original one . After a check with my bases my opinion (just my opinion...) is that your is a replica .

to compare the base should be sure that it is original, and I do not have the expertise, I just hope in the help of the real experts that I read on this forum, could you please post a picture of its bases?

thank you all for the answers, but not enough to observe the photos (place photos of an original found on the forum and a repro French) look the same to me, I want to learn, not just to know of my base, but to be able to one day buy serenely a real k 98 zf 41
