No Czech marks, but no proof on receiver and looks like only 3 numbers on bolt?

I put it on hold late yesterday while I researched it. I then took it off hold this morning after concluding that the bolt was funky and that it is likely post war. It still sold immediately when I took it off hold.. :) German rifle collecting is certainly loaded with trip wires and land mines.
I am not a german rifle collector and if I am to have one K98k it should be a real one.

I've bought some things i am very happy with from simpsons.

However, the new layout isn't nearly as good as the previous one.
And recently - I called them after noticing they had some Husqvarna 640's marked as 8mmMauser - and some as 8x57Js
I have a pre war small ring from them and was curious as to why they would describe the [same - as far as I understood] guns/cartridges differently...
- I don't like to assume I know more than I might.
Anyhow, when I asked a salesman if the 8mmMausers and the 8x57Js guns both fired the same round I was told they did not.
When I asked if one used a .323 and the other a .318 bullet he said he "did not know - but the cases were different"......

I know my gun shoots the 8mmJs .323 - and am sure so do the 8mm HVA Mausers. Heck, they might both even shoot 7.92 x57mm's
I'll still check their site and that HVA is sweeeet as are the other things I've bought from them.

I just tell this long drawn out tale because - well you never know - they might not know...and it's a blizzard outside and I've been inside most of the day....
