I think you wanted to say LT?100% matching Late War BYF44 L block HT that I am aware of
I think you wanted to say LT?
I was testing you all , I wanted to see if anyone caught that typo .@Dave Roberts I think you mean low turret? Plenty of matching L block high turrets out there.
Well, got lucky and found that info within one minute! T'was in May of 1987. Cost was $4K. Sometime later it went to the guy whom had the parts to fix it and was made whole plus 20%.Interesting story pwcosol. Do you recall roughly how much the guy wanted for his matching SS Double Claw back in the 1980s? I’m always interested to know the evolving value of original 98k’s over the decades.
nice, & thanks for sharing it (even if a repeat)"Rare" might be an overstatement but certainly hard to find in this condition. I've shared this one before but why not again! If you're a late war collector this one is kind of a trifecta. Found at an estate sale, it was in a soft case marked "german rifle" and I could see the take-down buttplate sticking out -- good start! then as I slid it out I saw walnut and chatter and thought WMO that's another win. then once all the way out, I flipped it over and saw the rail -- bingo! I think I used up a lot of my reserve of good luck with this one. sling is just as it came home I think, haven't turned a screw or "wiped down" -- just as found.
