Pics of the Mauser factory in June 1945

Can everyone else see all the pictures? I can see some, but a good portion don't seem to be working.

Lots of VERY COOL pictures, thanks for sharing them! I know how time consuming it can be to find them and to share them!

Have you tried another device ?
I took a day off to go to the photo archives. The next step would be to go to the paper archives that I mentionned in the thread about the footage.

Guys, to enjoy the pics, look at the factory map on p.136 of Vol I and pics on p.133, 193 and 198.
The wagons of 24 rifles are on p.214.
The bald old fellow in the factory performs process nr 66 (p.204)

Guillaume, do you have a date on which these images were captured?
According to the notice at ECPAD, they were shot on June 8, 1945.
What's sure is that it is summer, as some of the pics in the album show German peasants harvesting (wheat ? not in Oberndorf, but nearby at Immenstaad am Bodensee according to the notice).
As I noted, the roof of the power plant is destroyed and IIRC from the books, it was bombed in February 1945 : I guess it would have been repaired by summer 1946.

Amazing pictures. I had no idea that the muzzle covers were used in the factory I thought only in the field but makes sense. The stocks do not appear to have any finish. And why are the bolts missing on the guns in the interior shots?

Marc
