My buddy got offered a deal for 2 machine guns for 50k. One was this mp40 and the other was a mg34. I got this and he got the mg34 so 25k each and most of the mags came with it and some others I bought.Congrats on the MP40! Where did you find it and how much did it run you? So for replacing the barrel wouldn’t it show that the original one had been taken off and put back on?Your thumbs gonna be sore even using the loader with that many mags!
I grabbed a repop barrel from these guys with the cost of original’s skyrocketing. It will save your matching barrel if you want to put thousands of rounds through it. Most parts to complete it are online. An mg-34 barrel wrench fits the nut.

Damn, I think you both got a killer deal on those MGs, especially your buddy on the MG34 if it's as nice as your MP40!My buddy got offered a deal for 2 machine guns for 50k. One was this mp40 and the other was a mg34. I got this and he got the mg34 so 25k each and most of the mags came with it and some others I bought.
No the barrel nut was made to unscrew, I used a new crescent wrench and protected the nut with metal A/C duct tape and it came right off. No sign of abuse. Put some Kroil or liquid wrench on it for a couple days in advance to be sure. There is a thin metal shim with a bent tab that must be tapped bent straight. It’s like a locking device. So for replacing the barrel wouldn’t it show that the original one had been taken off and put back on?
