Found this in a local shop yesterday and picking it up today. Sadly its been sporterized and missing the bayolug/front/rear band and spring, but still has the sight hood and buttplate. Stock is a complete loss tho. More pics once I get it later.

The parts shown all look good! I’m interested in seeing the rest of it. Congrats!

as i told you elsewhere now that we know its matching and not shortened find a donor and save that action. Its 99% better than most bcd4's out there and deserves to be rescued.

That’s great metal and definitely worth restoring. Milled/phosphate FP and stamped/blued TG is a great and attractive combo.

Should be relatively easy to find the correct stock and worth spending the time on. Here’s a photo of the consecutive rifle to yours, it was sold as a Russian Capture years ago.

I don't always encourage this as it's really easy to get way upside down with these, especially when it's a mediocre base to start but this one actually is nice.

Agreed and agreed! Restorations are more a labor of love than an investment. That said, THIS rifle looks to be in really nice shape, and so long as you keep the original sporterized stock WITH it as a package deal, you have as close to original as you could ever be. (As in: THIS here is the original modified stock that was originally on this rifle, and HERE you see what it would have looked like before the original stock was modified.)

Well, I'm assuming and this is only a assumption he's into this red stocked horrible sported for a couple hundred. Then find a MM or nice C stock.. Considering a minty bcd can fetch over 2k even through a couple sold cheap NR on GB
its still worth the time and $ to invest.

Some new photos

so the million dollar ? is how much now do you have invested ? Also I have straightened bent stamped trigger guards with a little heat and a hammer handle that fits in there sideways and will tighten with a twist of the handle. but the blued stamped TG isn't that hard to find.

I'd leave the trigger guard alone. Could be part of the history. I would not heat it. Yours will be better then mine with the matching bolt. but I don't have much invested in mine since I picked up parts over the years. I would have to restore it but it could take awhile unless turboarchie will sell you a stock.

I paid $600 otd.😪 Was hoping for 500 or little less but shop didn't want to budge. So now will start scrounging some money for the parts to fix it up. I have some things I planned on selling (not wwii related) so that should give me the money for some stuff.

I agree, any dents and dings I leave it be.

If turbo archie doesn't wish to sell I have a beautiful cupped laminate BCD stock with matching hand guard and bands coming in from Norway.
