This is one of my favorites. Very good resolution so you can pick up a lot of details. In it, elements of the 13th Uhlan Regiment (at least a squadron) have recently dismounted and are forming a firing line behind a slight rise. Several of the men can be seen loading their Kar88's. You can see one guy that has his bolt open near the top of the detailed shot. At the end of the line an officer is standing with his saber drawn directing the troops. To his left rear a trumpeter is standing waiting for orders. Enjoy!

pretty fancy uniforms for field duty! Do you have an estimate of the date?
great photos, thanks for sharing

On the ground you might notice the Ulan lances laying flat behind the firing line. A number of these Ulan lances were imported by SARCO about 20 years ago. I had to drive over to their store in NJ back then to purchase one and strapped it to the side of my car to get it back home as it was too long to ship. Still have the lance. An impressive piece of workmanship.

Thanks guys. Is the lance you have one of the Argentine exports? If so they are a little different from the German models. Same type of construction but the Argentine one's have a different type of lancehead. More like a leaf-shaped spearhead. The Prussian lanceheads were more like a 4-sided spike. I have an Argentine one. I thought they were the same as the German models but learned afterward that they are not.

Mine must be Argentine style then as it looks like first photo.
Not like SARCO wouldn't have misleading advertising...Lance.jpg
