Here is why I love, not like, love, this one.... aside from condition

Phosphate sight hood, first one I believe is real and original, on a K43

recycled front sight base : we see this often in other parts, it is an early front sight base for rifles with threaded muzzles/muzzle nuts...note the lever was left out

walther made stock, no WaAC10 proofs, only walther proofs...note it is the thinner, more rounded type stocks I see mostly on BLM guns

Very nice, J.M. I was wondering how long it was going to take for you to post that thing. I watched that auction long enough. I could'nt convince Mikey to hit that buy- it- now.. You're pic's are much better..It's a screamer!!!!:hail:

Killer

You have done well young grasshopper.....:hail:

Let's get some action going on this forum. The 98k guys are leaving us in the dust.

Jack, you and JM have some beautiful rifles. I remember setting up at the shows down south and could buy nice matching G/K.43s in the regular flavors, ac 44 and duv 44, for around $475-575 all day. They would sit at shows for that. Matching K98ks seemed harder to find and were pretty close in price. I wasn't into G/Ks as I was K98ks but I wish I had been, and kept many that I sold off and traded.

Okay 10 years old I know.....but, could I please get the letter block of this rifle? I have one darn near like this, condition and all. Mine is a q block rifle.

I zoomed in and it looks like a “P”. That being said it can’t be a Q being in the 6k range.. I mean I guess it could?

I also have a late ac44 P block, not panel cut that also has the early front sight base for the threaded muzzle without the lever ! You have a real beauty there !

Along those lines, here are a few shots of a K43 fire restoration that I did for a guy about 20 years ago. He got the rifle for free, so he didn't mind putting a few bucks into it. Turned out to be a reliable and accurate shooter. I took a bit of a bath on the stockwork, though. Since I ordered a 90% stock, I quoted accordingly for the fitting. But when I received the wood, it was only 50% at best. No buttstock mortise, no cupped buttplate detail, no sling slot, no hole for the recoil lug, the inletting was only about 60% tops, and the external profile was like a club.

I really like the late Panel cut rifles. Likely the last realistic variant for me to pick up...I doubt I will find a 1943 dated rifle in Canada.
