P38 Local Find

Picked this little gem up from a local estate find. I know she’s been in the Radom holster for a long time due to the imprint.

Can’t quite make out the suffix . . . .maybe “w”?

If indeed a “w”, it was made in July, 1944.

Interestingly the last P-38 that I picked up was also in a Radom holster.

I picked up my AC 44 P38 from a local place as well. Although it was a gun shop, rather than an estate.

Here is mine. Picked up many years ago, also in the Radom holster. Like the OP’s, appear to have been there awhile.

Digging around on forums from old posts and it appears that finding P38’s in Radom holsters seems to be a fairly common thing. I’m beginning to wonder if they were not issued this way in some cases. I doubt this many P38’s ended up in Radom holsters at the hands of GIs
