original mount?

From what I can see it is original. Back of the mount reveals a lot.

hopefully it works out but, sometimes these are just fishing expeditions for sellers or scammers.. This would be another early square mount with center bend lever unnumbered possibly ordinance spares. Early ddx scope .
It certainly has the look as being "as found" .

May it be a hand numbered mount...with scope SN and rifle SN? look closely....

I'd definitely take a chance on that one. Images aren't conclusive but what those images show is good and nothing in those images suggests the opposite. Go for it!

Square mount doesn’t necessarily mean early. They were used until the end along with round.

Yes. That's why I was asking about the numbers. Appears a hand numbered mount and it's clearly serialized on the rear (rifle number) and appears serialized (scope) on the front end.

I ended up buying it once additional pictures unveiled it is the unusual Walther type with EP rifle serial and scope serial - and the scope matches numbers to the mount. Once I have received it I'll make sure it gets a very careful cleaning, then I'll be posting better pictures. Keen to find out the rifle serial, having a tough time to decipher it from the picture.
