Objective Mount Sniper Build

I’ve had this objective mount set for over 20 years and I think it’s time to use it to build a representative sniper rifle. I’d like to use the right k98 for this and was wondering if there are any better manufacturers or years for a proper objective mount sniper? Due to their scarcity I haven’t been able to really identify and exact pattern.

Your building a Reproduction so it deepends on how historically correct you want to get Your Scope Rings and Bases are not historically correct so take that into account . Known examples to date BSW 1939 , 243/1939 , CE 41/42 ,
Gew98 and Shortened Gew98 to K98 Configuration . Rifle will need to have a Flat Butt Plate type Stock . I have yet to see a verified a period photo showing SS OM Sniper Rifle with Cupped Butt Plate but that does not mean they did not use such stock , just saying no factual proof showing Cupped Butt Plate Stocks were used .

View the SS Objective Mount Sniper Rifles in this link and I will give the info you need and ask for . https://www.k98kforum.com/threads/s...tive-mount-rifles-suhler-einhakmontage.53164/

Dave… thanks for the recommendations and for the link. I know my set isn’t the real deal but I figure it’s as close as I’ll ever get and it could make for a nice representative rifle. I’d like to keep things as authentic as possible and think I may have a spare CE41 that could work although a Gew98 conversion would be pretty cool and I do have one that I may consider.

Thanks again.

Your very welcome and I hope my comment about Your Scope & Rings/Bases was not taken as a slight or insult as It was not meant to be .
When I first started collect German sniper rifles , I started with representative builds , so I know exactly what your saying . I look forward to seeing your build once completed . IMHO the example your building is likely one of the hardest examples to duplicate . Wish you the best on your build

Dave, your expertise and assistance over the years is sincerely appreciated by me and I didn’t take it negatively in any way. I knew my set wasn’t a real set. I bought it decades ago and it was actually the first German scope I bought. It’s been sitting there staring at me of late and I figured it would make for a decent representative example.
