Not as advertised “unissued dou44 “

Should also not be drilled for a rod and this looks like it might be. I have to say the stock looks like dou wood both in the sling and bolt cutout. And hard to tell but the eagle H looks odd. I wonder if someone “enhanced” the wood. Curious if it has the grip stamp. It certainly has been cleaned to death. Was probably a great rifle as found.

This rifle reallyyy reminds me of the “unissued” Brunn 98k that Legacy was showing off on their Youtube channel a while back.

These photos are terrible and done when I really did not know what I was doing, this rifle is a b block which in 1944 is way off from a dd block, but I would say the GB rifle is screwed with…..these are the only 2 good photos I currently have of it…. I need to retake it

the stock definitely looks like a correct dou stock. It has the long tongue cut out. Stock looked cleaned/bleached and the e/H is the type shows up on dot/bcd/ce Not dou, wouldnt be the first time someone ruined a perfectly good stock with over proofing with the wrong proofs or serial numbers..

Holy bleach bottle blonde. I can't believe how much I don't like that look.

Whats your camera setup? I wanna start taking some really good, solid pics of my rifles.

I get a kick out of the language some folks use to create the "escape clause". In this case the addition of 'condition' added to 'unissued'. Leaves room for how it got that way.

I'm not in any way vouching for the authenticity of this rifle, but I think the bleached out look of the stock is being enhanced by the lighting setup. Several others he has listed have a similar color tone and washed out look.

At this point I just like to use my iPhone 14, outside in natural lighting on a cloudy day. I still use the light box that I made a little. I kinda like the natural background. It gives a color perspective I think.

That link I posted was before I built a light box started taking photos outside with a natural background …... I don’t think those pictures are good.

Ok thanks! I use my LG Velvet atm and try to wait for cloudy days or close dusk/early dawn.

here's what it should look like. this is 894dd so a bit earlier same suffix. this is the factory finish on the stock and consistent through this transitional period in to '45. My C block has the same finish, as does my gg block semi. note the same sling and bolt cut-outs, and it is not drilled for a rod, which also seems consistent with the posted example. Note the small "z" in the grip -- this is really the only external marking you should see on these tho it's often very faint and can be hard to see. def no eagle/H.

here's 6996bb. same finish, cut-outs, small "k" in the grip. not drilled for a rod. red glue here. dd posted earlier was white, as is the OP example. no eagle/H of course. and again my gg semi is identical. I'll try and grab some shots of that as well.
