Norwegian Krag

Vulch - Thanks for putting this photo up. I'm amazed to see these used in quantity by troops fully equipped for battle. The only other photo i've seen shows a few Krags captured at the wars end, piled up with other miscellaneous Mausers, Carcanos, etc. I own a "Lang" Krag made by Steyr which appears to have been captured by US forces, as it had a "duffel bag" cut under the forward band. A local friend also has one with the cut. However, the majority of our souvenir rifles here in New Mexico seem to be Arisakas rather than Mausers or other European models pressed into German service.

Another shot..

i borrowed this one.. kriegsmarine nco or officer using a norweigian krag karbine..

Cool photos! I take back what I said. Judging by the short stock and the sling arrangement, it might be an M1897. On closer inspection, the swivels appears to be on the side.

cool shots

the last two apear to be Gebirsjager in Norway.. I know the 5th was in norway for sure.

a few more Krags

That is an awesome photo! All of those Krags have been cut for a German sling, but the slings appear to be Norwegian which have been modified as well. I did not know the Germans modded these.

Something new to add to the want list.
