Newly acquired 1938 S/42 barreled action Vet all numbers match bring back?

The rear sight collar is the replacement I bought; however I would like to find one that matches. It was removed prior to me gaining ownership. I also have a replacement stock flat butt plate. Please advise if anyone knows where I could find a correct stock for the year if possible.
Maybe you’ll find some luck on the forum trader. If you keeps your eyes peeled, you may also get lucky on eBay.

No actually I didn't notice that, all the previous owner informed me was that it had been drilled for a Thomson peep sight. Kinda mad now! I assume there will be a gap in the stock now?

I sold this rifle… The step in the barrel is not turned down IMO. The rifle fit perfectly in a Mauser ‘37 stock with no gap. Here are higher resolution photos:

If you are talking about where the front sight should be I removed that not but a week ago. I was just looking it over and nothing seems outta place other then that and no rear sight.

Thanks man! I was worried for second.

The step in the barrel that the rear sight sleeve butts up to has been turned down to a taper. Common thing to do back in the day

Not the barrel shank right at the receiver. Next up. A rear sight base will go on, but there will be a pronounced groove visible.

I see what you mean now. Never noticed that in the time I owned it…
