New to guns and even newer to the forum

Hi all, just joined the forum. I'm very new to guns, but I love the look and history of the K98 so I'm quite certain it will be the first one I spend my hard-earned dollars on. I've got some questions regarding one I'm going to look at in a week (unless he sells it to someone else beforehand) but I'm assuming that - Mauser Rifles 1933 to 1945 - The Nazi Period - is where I should post that, so I'll go there for that.
Looking forward to learning some of the rich, and seemingly never-ending, history of the k98 along with more functional knowledge about the gun.
 
Welcome and please do ask all questions and post pictures of a potential purchase (if possible) here BEFORE you spend that hard earned money. Do not post any links to an ongoing auction. It’s a minefield out there and you are the guy they are looking for!
