Hello guys new here and brand new to k98 rifles. My buddy's co-worker has 3 rifles for sale and I'm interested in purchasing one. As I know next to nothing or than youtube video knowledge, I'll post the pictures he sent me and prices he is asking for each rifle. Any help determining if they are worth it would be fantastic, as I've done the research to at least understand who made them and basic differences between years. If you see anything wrong please let me know (parts don't look original, stocks are wrong, etc)

Thanks guys looking forward to my first k98!

1943 ce script font $1700 (all numbers matching) top

1936 s/147 with bayonet $2600 (all numbers matching) middle tiger strip stock

1942 bnz $1700 (all numbers matching) bottom

Also I don't want to ask for one million photos as I'll be going to check them out in person to guarantee they match what he says. Just looking for rough guesses/approx value/anything that doesn't look right based on what you see from these few photos

From the few pictures I can see, they seem to be alright. That being said, I am viewing them on a phone so I might be missing some smaller details. I any case, the prices listed really aren't bad at all if they are what he says they are.

To determine if a K98 is 100% original and correct, pictures of pretty much every marking and serial number needs to be looked at. These photos are not showing a lot of the important parts such as the bolt, stock markings, and other items that would be serialized.

I will say though, from what I can see from these few photos, those look like damn nice rifles and all for a great price (if all truly matching).

Prices sound very good indeed if all legit. Might check the serial nos. on stock grip area for matching stocks. Earlier produced guns like my 1940 Borsigwalde marked in this area. Like the tiger stripe too.

The JPS/36 looks to me KM and it is the right range for such... that is desirable; the bnz/42 looks to be an f-block, SDP was still making a quality rifle then and anything SDP and nice is desirable. The ce/43 is generally a ho-hum maker-date, but still desirable if 100%

I would go for them in that order assuming they are equally fine.

Good I eye Paul I can see the Fleet marked bolt takedown disk. And that looks like to be an excellent Sauer rifle if it's all matching that's a pretty darn good price for a kriegsmarine marked k98k.

I really like the JPS/36 KM...if all matching that would be a cool rifle. I love the early walnut stocked rifles

Those look like nice rifles to me, based on what can be seen. Prices are very good too if they’re all authentic.
