New Mauser owner, CE 41 all matching with broken stock. I would love some advice!!!

No, the buttplate is in the white. The flash made it look dark, and it does have more patina than the rest of the rifle. The sling adjustment and buttplate have more corrosion than the rest of the rifle. Since the buttplate is in the white that makes sense to me. The sling slide adjuster is likely of a lesser quality metal and bluing to begin with so that may have come into play.

The sling is not bad, but I am considering selling the sling that is on this rifle and looking for higher end sling before those disappear. All the faking going on in the Mauser world scares me though, and I know this old sling is real. I am very surprised at all the forgery going on in the mil-surp world. Since I am more of an Ar-15/Glock guy this is all new to me!

This rifle appears to me to be a re-blue or the pic show it darker then it is. That appears to be a duffle cut of a rather imaginative GI, a way to easy repair.
 
The bluing on the rifle is exceptional compared to others I have seen. I am unsure if it was possibly reblued. The main reason I believe it is original is the lack of dents/dings/nicks and I am certain it has not been polished because of the obvious machining marks on it. There is not a spot of pitting anywhere on the rifle, just the lightest of freckling. The only real dings are on the front end of the stock metal, probably from someone not knowing how to disassemble it. Let me get some good daylight pictures up and maybe get some more opinions on the bluing.

the stock barrel channel has the markings "Kr 5 50 40" ? If you are sure, the stock got these markings on Friday 13th December 1940. This date could be the final inspection/final acceptance from the stock manufacturer or it's the date from the final assembly by J.P. Sauer. I tend to my first theory.

By the way, please pull the bolt stop and look, certainly there is a number marking in the stock.

Here are a few pics of the markings inside the stock, they are not the best but I think you can read them. Looks to me like Kr 2 50 40, a small "5" to the left of that marking, and a clearly marked matching serial number further back on the stock. The handguard also has a clearly marked matching number.

I think the stock channel date is acceptance from the stock manufacturer.
I have a matching CE42 t block that has the same Na marking with date. The stock date is several months before the serial number date of the barreled action. T block being the last block produced in 1942 by Sauer.
 
Thank you, I expected rather a "Br", but I also see a "Kr" now. I agree with you, the marking is 2 50 40 and that means 10th December 1940.

Yes, the "t" block is the last block produced in 1942 by Sauer. Do you share the data like serial number and the "Na" marking with date? Which style has the siderail Mod. 98? I guess it's in gothic style.
 
New pictures after removing the varnish with denatured alcohol and wiping it down with a couple thin coats of linseed oil.

The serial number is 6586t and the stock date is Na 4 29 42. The siderail is marked Mod. 98 in gothic. The receiver is WaA 280 for ERMA production.
