I rescued this one. Stock was sporterized. I put it in the only spare stock I have which I know is not correct for this early
Gun. Bands bands don't match. Looking for a correct stock.

Looks way better than in a sportered stock for sure..I've done the same several times, always a good feeling to put wartime furniture where it belongs.

I happen to have an earlier stock, flat buttplate, h style front band etc. it needs a little tlc, has remains of Russian schellac on it. If you are interested in a trade I will be glad to send you pics

I have been looking for a decent flat plate for my 1938 S/42 for a long time and saw the one from Gunbroker mentioned above. Don't you think this is an outrageous amount or is this the new normal?

Seems high to me. No one's bid on it either. That tells me somthing.

It seems a little ridiculous to me. But they are getting more and more scarce. I would try and get him near 300 honestly. Anywhere in the ballpark of 500 seems crazy for a (relatively) common maker and for a stock that is relatively plain.
