Just acquired this today from a local gun store. First time ive walked into a gun store and bought something off the shelf in probably 5 years.
Its a bolt mismatch ar 42. Not in screamer condition, but I figured for the price I might aswell pick it up. I don't believe non RC ar 42 rifles are too common. Has a great bore. Its serial 1899 H block I believe. Kind of looks like a lower case B with the bottom part cut off. But I think its H. Entire rifle matches except for the bolt. Follower and cleaning rod are unnumbered but are marked. Follower is e/140 I believe. Cleaning rod is marked e/359. Not sure Ive ever seen a walther rod. Could both these items be armorers replacements? Bolt is also e/26 but is C block. Is it from the same year as the rifle? Bolt is in poorer condition then the rifle as far as finish goes. But it is a complete and all matching to itself. Stock has some nicks but is overall in decent condition. The lack of markings initially threw me through a loop. The only markings I can find anywhere on the wood are the serial numbers in the barrel channel. Nothing on the buttplate either. Other then a small triangle stamp on the back side. The red primer is present underneath aswell.
Overall I am pleased with the rifle. k98ks of any condition are almost impossible to find in this area. Love to hear any info on it. Thanks fellas. John.
