Need some help with a repro ZF39

I just got a 237 1939 repro sniper from James River Armory. The instructions for adjusting the scope are... useless, all they show is an exploded diagram. Does anyone know how to adjust windage(if possible) and elevation? I`ve also found next to nothing on the net. Any help would be most appreciated.

The opposing screws on the rear mount adjust windage. Move the scope in the direction that you want the POI to shift. Loosen one screw; tighten the other. Make sure both are tight once zeroed. Elevation is adjusted via the larger knob on top of the scope. Once zeroed, you can loosen the three screws on top of the knob to adjust the outer ring to 100 (or what ever the range the rifle is zeroed). The small oblong device on top of the larger ring adjusts focus. The small knurled screw locks elevation in place.

I find these repros to work pretty well. One issue is the lens-locking ring on the front lens tends to loosen with recoil. Fairly easy to fix. Second, is the locking screw block tends to loosen with repeated use. This can also be fixed with minimal effort.

Have fun

Thanks

Someone tried to tell me the windage was adjusted by loosening the half wingnut on the rear mount. I didnt think so!

I have a repro with the rear BDC locking screw block loosening. Whats the fix? I am pretty good with machine tools but why reinvent the wheel if someone can point me in the right direction before I start pulling it apart? Any special thing to do to keep it from fogging once apart?

Shim it with a small piece of metal and JB weld. If done neatly it is unnoticeable and strong.

There is a small screw under the block attaches it to the metal frame. However, you will need to remove the entire elevation mechanism from the tube to access it. If you feel lucky you can go for it.

Thanks!

Thats what I needed to hear. There is a screw in there. I am pretty good with tools and someone posted a series of pics on how to get the BDC assembly off. If I run into trouble I will stop and back out and try the JB weld. Thanks for the input!!!!
