My K98k.

As I stated before, it's a RC with no matching numbers. The receiver is stamped 1938 but the stock has a cupped butt plate. So I am ordering an original USED flat butt plate to replace it. I am using the receiver's date of 1938 as a point of reference for replacing original parts.(Cleaning rod and butt plate). This isn't a "collectors" gun, but one that is trying to preserve the mystic of the original. I bought a repro sling because any original ones are kind of funky and expensive. I also bought a Brass Stacker Mount and a scope for it. The kind that can be mounted on the rear sight was kind of flimsy.

If you have a stock with a cupped butt plate a flat butt plate will not fit properly. Your stock is from a later rifle and the butt of the stock is cut specifically for a cupped butt plate.

Thank you very much for that info. You saved me money and time.
