Hi all,
Here is the rifle I mentioned in my introduction. I initially thought that it was mis matched having byf parts but after talking to the member Slash and looking through this great site it looks like it may be correct. This rifle was bought back by a local Iowa veteran of the 325th Engineer Combat Battalion and has the original capture papers from March 1945.
The rifle is a ee block dou. 44 and appears to be in great condition. The veteran bought back 2 rifles, one was turned into a sporter and this one looks to have gone into a wardrobe and been left untouched.
Jason
Missing the locking screws, though looks as if it may have never had any.
The only marking I could find on the stock is this H
The upper woodwork.
Last pic for now. Thank you for looking and let me know if there are any other details that need to be seen.
