Hi all,
Here is my byf44 I just bought. All matching except the stock hardware and stock.( it is an earlier style stock). Got it for $250. No import marks, it is a bring back more than likely.

Looks pretty decent from what I can see. You sure did very well on the price! Did not think any 98k could be purchased for under $400 anymore. Thanks for sharing.

Whoa $250??!? That’s a great price. Let’s see the rest of the markings please!! I think you got a pretty good deal.

The Bolt flat were the serial is stamped this appears to be in the White , is that the case ? . I ask because I am wondering if it is , then this could maybe be a reclaimed bolt body . Bruce would be the one to ask . Just curious because Mauser did use reclaimed/scrubbed bolts . I have one on my BYF 44 L block LT Sniper . Best Regards .

I looks like there was some blueing on the bolt but it has worn off. I see traces of it on the bolt

I hope you all enjoyed the pics, I couldn’t believe it myself when I saw the price on it, bought it at a pawn shop near my work. I also bought a Japanese bayonet and scabbard for $20. Someone tried to sharpen it in the past but I figured it was worth it.

Looks like you have a 'Road and Track' 98k!
I'd imagine RT was a previous owner's initials.
Hell of a deal, even as it's a restored sporter.
