Mauser Oberndorf K98k Serial Studies and Data - 1934 to 1946

byf 44, s/n 20843d, Captured by someone, but probably not Russians (no X), all matching except bolt (non-matching bolt) and floor plate (milled on stamped trigger guard). Red glue Laminate stock was sanded (not by me), so no cartouches; internal stock s/n's match rifle.

byf 44, s/n 41440f, Captured by someone, but probably not Russians (no X), non-matching. White glue stock does not match rifle, faint Heer cartouche

Gun show walk-in yesterday.

S/42 1937; serial number 3642a; all matching and nice condition except for a few dings in the edge of the lower band from being disassembled by a gorilla. Included a Mauser banner muzzle cover.

Appears to have been a capture. Waffenamt markings have not been scrubbed.

Electro-pencil force match on bolt. Purchased through Gunbroker from an individual collector/dealer.

many different marks on stock ( B, 4, H3, ...)

I have an S/42 code 1936 , S/N 2968n, that had been sporterized; D&T, stock heavily modified, sights added to barrel, bolt handle bent (further). MM Bolt but all other parts matching. Purchased on Gunbroker.
 
New acquisition today - 42 code, 1939. All match except bolt. Rifle #8249m, bolt later Eagle 135 #8618c matching to itself. Barrel code 39Si43 - Silesiastahl. Walnut "eagle H" stock & handguard. Will be for sale at SOS.

3 x e/135; final proof on top of receiver

barrel code: (Shield byf/1) 44D1088

JP Sauer WaA37* (on keel) left over stock, WaA135 on pistol grip. Stock code KI 5 16 44; ~3/30/44. Stamped bands, cleaning rod channel and lug, take down disc, original bring back sling and sight hood.

37 S/42 Vet bringback

Main parts serialed 1680f. Bolt mismatch but matching to it self. Stock correct walnut flat buttplate Luftwaffe E63 marked but mismatched. Looking for matching upper and lower band or unmarked E63 replacements.
 
A pair of byf41's

1) Bolt mm 2138h. Flat butt walnut. Bolt matches itself. NIM.

2) Bolt and trigger guard mismatch. All else 144ff. Luft marked stock that is red glue lam. Bolt matches itself. Mixed E655/E135 acceptance on receiver
 
1944 K98 BYF SN: 3672e

I recently purchased a Mauser k98 1944. Its all matching Serial Number 3672e; EXCEPT for the safety lever. Stock SN matches and is stamped WaA135. NIM, . Came with sight hood and sling but no cleaning rod.
